Rana Lab has officially launched!

Aug 1, 2025

Rana lab has offically launched at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

We are excited to officially open the doors of the Rana Lab as of August 1, 2025!

Over the next several months, we will be busy building the space, setting up equipment, launching animal protocols, and starting the first experiments in the lab. The Rana Lab studies the neural control of breathing, particularly how spinal cord injury and neurological disease disrupt respiratory motor circuits, and how we can harness neuroplasticity and neuromodulation to restore breathing function.

Starting a new lab from the ground up has been both exciting and humbling, and I am incredibly grateful for the support from colleagues, and the broader OSU neuroscience community. I am especially excited to continue building interdisciplinary collaborations across respiratory physiology, neuroscience, rehabilitation, engineering, and translational medicine here at Ohio State.

Most importantly, I am thrilled to begin training the next generation of scientists and to finally see the Rana Lab science come to life. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to grow!
