Natalie Stover

Graduate Student
Neuroscience Graduate Program
My name is Natalie Stover, and I am a first-year graduate student in the Neuroscience Graduate Program at The Ohio State University. I completed my undergraduate studies at OSU majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Eastern and Slavic Languages, and I am interested in the development of therapeutics to treat neurodegenerative and neurological conditions. Previously, I worked to optimize nanoparticle tracking analysis for use with extracellular vesicles in Alzheimer’s Disease during an internship with Dr. Dimitrios Kapogiannis at the NIA, applied fiber photometry to the search of underlying brainstem suppression preceding sudden unexpected death in epilepsy at The Gu Lab at OSU, and worked in Emergency Medicine clinical research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to assess accuracy of nasal swabs for Covid-19, collected patient samples for biomarker analysis of increased risk for kidney and UTI infections, and administered an HIV awareness initiative to increase testing rates throughout Nationwide Children’s Hospital. I am especially interested in the application of gene therapy to disorders such as spinal cord injury and Alzheimer’s disease. Outside of lab, I enjoy traveling, painting, and weightlifting. I also enjoy volunteering with groups that help expand STEM education access in rural and urban schools across Ohio.
